The vision of VitalSpring since its inception in 1999 has been to empower the purchasers of healthcare to become more sophisticated in improving the cost of quality of healthcare through the use of technology. While there has been a big push over the past few years for the adoption of healthcare technology, the alignment of its implementation and adoption has been contrary to the economics of how healthcare is funded. Today healthcare is funded by employers and employees to a large extent. Just as the buyer of clothes, food and other consumer goods has become more empowered through information and technology- so in healthcare- the buyer can have the same impact.
Over the past few years VitalSpring has worked with many of the Fortune 500 to do just that. Companies have been able to dramatically improve the approach to optimizing the cost and quality of benefits in innovative plan designs for medical and pharmacy, as well as disease management, wellness and other programs. Many employers have also been able to also better understand the impact of individuals with illness, not just illness, and the impact of cost utilization and risk on various strategies and the impact to productivity. There have been tremendous efficiencies created for companies in reducing costs on redundant systems, multiple vendors and silos of information.
Many companies have also for the first time been able to better budget, forecast and reconcile benefits payments like never before and  improve internal controls around benefits accounting without performing these activities in spreadsheets.
Employers should eventually have one platform to better communicate and access information on health benefits across the supply chain without excessive cost for many overlapping silos of data and technology.
We are very excited at VitalSpring to have paved a new road of innovation for technology in  and welcome you to join our exciting foray to dramatically improve the quality and cost of healthcare delivery globally.
